Cool Website *-*

Hi ladies!

I recently found out about this new website through a makeup guru (Holly) that I watch on youtube (I know you guys do it too!). At first I was skeptical, so I waited to see if it turns out to be too good to be true. This website is basically like a blog but a way more interactive one that people post about anything from technology to health & beauty to sports & fitness. BUT while doing all these things that you would normally do on a blog, you can win really cool prizes. Prizes include a Macbook Pro, a LV purse, iTunes gift cards and even a Konad Pro Nail Salon Kit. You win points for posting, commenting and basically everything on the site is designed for you to earn points.

The reason why I decided to give it a shot was because on this blog, I try to keep everything based around the business and more professional. On this new website, I get to post about a variety of other subjects that interest me and just more well..random. Things I find funny or my skin care routine..stuff like that (if anyone is interested..haha).

I also wanted to share this with all of you because the prizes are really cool. After watching the video (will be linked below) I was kinda sold..haha.

If you guys don't know about this site already, I say try it out and see cause the rewards are pretty awesome. If you are as addicted to blogging as me, I think you'll enjoy it. =) You can click on the button below and it will direct you to the page. If you do decide to join don't forget to add me as a friend!

Happy blogging everyone!

Nail Design of the Week

This week my aunt Fannie's nails will be featured as well as my own. I wanted to try the Sponge Set and her nails were perfect because they're nice and long. Short nails will work too but with longer nails its easier to show off the different layers. Also if you use more shades of purple the gradient effect would be more apparent but I didn't have that many purples so I just used 3. I hope you guys like it!

Products Used:

Base Coat: Sally Hansen Strong as Diamonds
Konad Sponge Set
OPI Sheer Your Toys
L.A. Girl Bedazzle

As for myself, I wanted to do a design inspired by 2010 fall trends. So I did camouflage print. =)

A customer I met a few weeks ago has her own blog where she posts pictures of her nail designs and I wanted to share this design with you guys because I thought it was super cute. You can become a follower of her blog to see her other designs, which are also really cool. =)

Blog: Superflynails.blogspot.com

The Hello Kitty Plate can be found on ebay I think but for those of you who are ambitious you can try drawing your own with nail pens. In the mean time for those of you who, like me, are Hello Kitty fans, keep your fingers crossed that Konad will come out with a Hello Kitty plate!

Nail Design of the Week

I really like the way french tips look so I wanted to practice using the french tip Konad plates. I never really used them much cause I normally paint them on with nail art pens but I think from now on I'm gonna use the plates. It's so much faster! Especially when you want a design the plates will save you so much time. For this particular design I tried painting on the black base first but it didn't work too well because the white did not completely cover the black so it turned out kinda grey-ish and muddy looking. So I used a nail art pen and drew in the curved line. It's not very precise but I tried..haha. Also it does take some practice to get the french tips on evenly and in the right area. I had to redo them a few times to get the hang of it so don't give up! Practice makes perfect. =)

Products used:

Base Coat: Orly Bonder
Konad Polish: White
Konad Plate: M45
Nail Art Pen: Black
Top Coat: Seche Vite

Also I think for the next few NDWs they're gonna be inspired by fall trends so look out for those. =)

Nail Design of the Week

Okay..so I couldn't wait a week before changing my nail design again..haha. I really wanted to try this idea that a customer shared with me. It turned out pretty well but I had some difficulty using the Seche Vite top coat so I used the Konad top coat for the design instead. The Seche Vite top coat dried too fast so I couldn't transfer the whole design over to the stamp. I hope you guys like it! =)

Base Coat: Orly Bonder
Nail Polish: OPI's Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow, Essie's Matte About You matte finisher
Konad Plate: M57
Konad Polish: Top Coat
